Lacuna

1. A language gap, which occurs when there is no direct translation in the target language for a lexical term found in the source language.
There's no wonder we have trouble expressing our feelings. A great lacuna exists in the English language when some languages have twenty or more words for love and we have just one.
2. An absent part, especially in a book or other piece of writing, often referring to an ancient manuscript or similar.
The recent lacuna in my blog happened because I moved across the country and got rather busy with real life.
3. A blank gap or missing part.
The lacuna in my blog should be filled with inamorata, consanguinity, primogenitor, beleaguer, requisition, sanctity, delectation, unsoulclogged, allegro, effervescence, succor and thermogenic.

Leonine

Sometimes I can be as leonine as the coward in the Wizard of Oz.

Limn

1. To describe.
Considering you could be a chimerical dilettante to this blog, I shall try to limn it in the simplest terms available.
2. To describe by painting or drawing.
All your drunken brush strokes limn is a distorted picture.

Laconic

Much Greek mythology is laconic in nature, relating tales of Helen of Troy.
2. Expressing much in few words.
I love you is a laconic phrase.

Legerdemain

1. Deceitful cleverness, especially with regards to implied magic.
Through a bit of legerdemain, some hatmaker turned Smurfette's vagina into a hat!

Logolepsy

1. An obsession with words.
Mine is a textbook case of logolepsy that began the first time I was told to look a word up in the dictionary. My logolepsy then found new hunting ground in church book sales and secondhand shops, where I could look up the same words in different books. Through logolepsy, I learned that the meanings of words develop and change over the years and can be very political. Dictionaries are censored for political correctness and to further national agendas. Does this make me a logoleptic conspiracy theorist?

Lament

1. To regret, sorrowfully.
2. To express such regret and sorrow.
Although she was smiling on the outside, she inwardly lamented the events of that morning. If she hadn't mentioned the cheese, he probably wouldn't have got so angry and it wouldn't have turned into such a heated argument, but there was nothing she could do about it now.
He lamented the loss of his friend so loudly and so often that the whole neighborhood knew about it.

Synonyms: bawl; bemoan; complain; moan; pule; regret; sulk; whine.

1. A tangible or intangible expression of regret and sorrow. Tangibly, these usually take some sort of rhyming form, like a song or a lengthy poem. Intangibly, it might be like that invisible burden one carries with them everywhere they go, so that it effects their posture and eventually bending their back until they look like a lamentable old character.

John Lennon's lament: "Although I laugh and I act like a clown. Beneath this mask I am wearing a frown."
